Where does one start with Chester? His face and size belied his gentle nature, but his shifty eyes gave some indication of his capacity for badness. Cyclists played chicken with him, builders lost their sandwiches to him, exhaust pipes were chewed by him, ullage was passed through him and drainpipes inspired a gnawing from him. He lived to cause mischief and people loved him for it. He was both strong and ugly, he was never clean, he paraded burns, cuts, scratches and scabs. Customers loved him as did we.
